eWall 4.0 Released!

Postby Alexander Telegin » Mon Sep 06, 2010 7:53 pm

Dear eWall Users!

We are excited to announce the next release of the eWall 4.0. In this
release you will find an array of new features, capabilities and enhancements.

The Javascript engine is replaced with PHP. This is the most significant improvement, as PHP is much more suitable for server side than Javascript. Now all PHP libraries, drivers and scripts can be used with eWall.

All filters are PHP scripts. Unlike eWall 3.0, where scripting is used to write a filtering scenarios when condition/action-based filters not enough, in eWall 4.0 all filters finally have converted into the snippets of PHP code. These snippets are open source and available for editing through Control Panel.

The Repository of filters. eWall 4.0 includes the Repository of ready-to-used filters (PHP code snippets), covering the major anti-spam techniques. The Repository is also open sourced, has XML format and can be extended with your own filters.

Remote Control Panel. You can install it separately to control one or more eWall services.

Built-in Message Sniffer engine, ClamAV and SpamAssassin (SpamD) clients.

PostgreSQL. This popular DB engine is now used to keep the eWall data.
Please visit the Feature list to see all features.

Both eWall 4.0 and 3.0 can co-exist at same machine. The only exception is EWLSP, that must be installed for appropriate version. Also, if you are going to keep both versions, change the Start mode one of them to the "Manual" so both versions won't start at Windows re-start.

Can ewall 4.0 be automatically be paid monthly for unlimited domains and email boxes? Although I have lost quite a few customers I still have 15 domains and about 35 customers or so plus being a backup mail server (Hmail using routes of course (does this count)
Also will email 4 check anything coming from a secondary server (backup)?
