Watchdog against process stuck

Postby alexbromo » Wed Oct 19, 2016 9:40 am

Sometimes (one or two times/month) the EWall process suddenly crashes: Ewall control panel show "disconnected:" and mailserver stops working.

I seen that EW have a watchdog service option: can i use it to trap that situation and warn me ?

Yes, the watchdog options menu provides settings to restart and notify via an external mx.

Thank you,

I tried using mu Gmail account, but it requires SSL on SMPT, but it seems eWall watchdog does not support SSL.

I resolved implementing an internal SMTP relay on a IIS 7.5 (2008 virtual server) that accept mail on a standard 25 port (without SSL/TLS) and relay it to Gmail: it works ! :D
