Greylisting & Round Robin

Postby ccsliinc » Fri Mar 06, 2015 8:37 pm

How do you deal with Greylisting and the fact that many larger/internet based emails are being sent via round robin? Can something be introduced into the greylisting to check for hostnames or something similar? The greylisting feature helps filter out quite a bit of garbage email, but aol, google, microsoft, etc.. takes forever to get through if it even does!

We've created a custom filter to bypass greylisting for some of these senders:
Greylist Bypass
OnSender
This allows large providers (like google) who don't play nice to not be greylisted
if session variable helo contains ...
then set session variable disable_greylisting = 'true'

Filter policy:
Listeners: apply to all listeners
Local senders: apply to all, except none
Local recipents: apply to all, except none

So far this is the list we are using:
helo|contains|.google.com
helo|contains|.carrierzone.com
helo|contains|.messaging.microsoft.com
helo|contains|.obsmtp.com
helo|contains|.paypal.com
helo|contains|.secureserver.net
