Best antivirus solution to use with eWall

Postby alexbromo » Mon Feb 09, 2015 3:32 pm

I noticed some choices in eWall Antivirus filter options: Avast, McAfee, Sophos ... do you have a suggestion for the best choice ?

We move 3.000 - 5.000 mail per-day on a VM not soo powerful, so should be important to have some control on anti-virus behavior, like decide to analyze or not on the basis of size or type of attachment.

Why ? A license of Avast for example can't fulfill the feature ?

I tested Avast with latest version and didn't find the scanner that eWall could use to test emails.

I installed yesterday the 30 dys trial of Avast Antivirus (http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_pro ... online.exe).
The program install itself in "C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast" and the commandline scanner appears to be present ("C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\ashCmd.exe").

Interesting... Then yes, you can use it, but make sure the path is set correctly in filter config.
