Send Attachment Not Working

Postby SteveT » Wed Sep 01, 2010 8:26 pm

I have a rule set up to act almost like an auto-responder, that attached a file. However, it appears to be a problem. If I attach a text file. it can been seen in the ArGo Web Interface, but no in MS Outlook. If I attach a ZIP file, it can not be seen in either the ArGo Web interface or MS Outlook. Is this a bug in the attach file portion of the filter?

All 3 email's attachments "Test.txt" have been successfully opened in all mail clients. I don't see any violations in these emails. Could you please specify what's wrong? If they aren't visible in ArGo web, then most likely there's a problem with web interface as these emails are RFC-compliant.

Alex,

These messages do not have the attachment in MS Outlook, my mail client.

Also each of those messages should have also had test.zip attached.

So you say eWall converts Test.zip to the Test.txt?

Alex,
No, I change the rule to send both the text.txt and a test.zip. So the email should have two attachments.

Steve, I'm trying to reproduce it and can't. I took your email samples with .txt attachment, manually removed the attachment from email source, created the filter, that attach .txt and .zip files, send it through, and got email with both files attached. Try to attach something else instead .zip file, maybe the problem with that particular .zip.

Alex,

I use Outlook 2003 SP3 on Windows 7 x64. In Outlook I get NO attachments. In the ArGo web client, all I get is the test.txt attachment, no zip. -Correction. There was a logic flaw in my rule. With that fixed, now here is the latest status:

In ArGo Web interface I can see all attachments.
In Outlook, I see NO attachments.

I am sending you via email, the eWall Log and message.

Hello Steve,

Please try this version. I slightly changed the code, now ArGo should
see the attachments:

Alex,

Yes, the new version works.

Installation:
For others, to install stop the eWall Services, remove or rename the old EWSrv.exe and replace it with the one in the ZIP file. Restart the services.

Issue
It was not ArGo that was not seeing the attachment with the add attachment filter, but MS Outlook 2003 running on Win7 x64.

Thanks!
