How do I filter for precisely a certain word?

Postby wjlight » Tue Sep 14, 2010 9:13 pm

:confused:In e-Wall I am trying to use a subject and body filter to look for precisely specific "white" words. My problem is that any word that contains the letters of the filter words are detected as a match.

For instance, if I wanted to filter for precisely "ate" words such as "date" and "alternate" would be considered as matches by the filter.

I already tried putting the words in quotes with leading and trailing spaces but that did not work.

Must be a way.

Thanks in advance.

You probably use "contains" sub-condition instead of "equals"?

That's exactly what I did, I used "contains."

I was concerned that using "equals" would mandate that the only word in the entire subject or body would be the allowed white word; in other words, a one word message subject and/or a one word message body.

What you're telling me is that using "equals" causes the white word to be detected only if it is a word by itself among the other words in the subject or message body.

I've now set the rule to "equals."

Thanks

Sorry, I misread your post. You need to use the contains word sub-condition of course.
